Come Join Our Team

We are seeking a seasoned ServiceNow Engineer to join our team in supporting Hybrid Agile development projects within a Software Development and Support program for a federal agency. This position plays a crucial role in the agency's mission to modernize IT Service Management through the implementation of best practices, process optimization, and continual service improvement. As a key member of the Agile Design team, the ServiceNow Engineer will provide expert development support, leveraging ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, SPM, ITOM, Customer Service Management, and other workflows, within a DevSecOps methodology framework. This role requires a highly skilled individual who is committed to excellence, innovation, and the delivery of efficient and effective IT services across the organization. This position is contingent upon contract award.

This Senior ServiceNow Engineer position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to significant IT modernization efforts within a federal agency, leveraging the full capabilities of the ServiceNow platform. Your expertise will drive the development of innovative solutions, optimizing processes and enhancing service delivery across the organization.

What will I get to do?

ServiceNow Development: Lead the development and configuration of ServiceNow modules including ITSM, SPM, ITOM, and Customer Service Management, ensuring solutions are aligned with agency requirements and best practices.

Agile Team Collaboration: Actively participate in Agile design teams, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring timely delivery of development tasks and project milestones.

Process Optimization: Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and implement process optimizations and enhancements within the ServiceNow platform.

Custom Solutions: Design and develop custom solutions and workflows within ServiceNow to meet unique organizational needs, improving efficiency and user experience.

Integration Support: Develop and support integrations with other enterprise tools and systems, enhancing automation and data exchange across the IT ecosystem.

Quality Assurance and Testing: Ensure the quality and functionality of ServiceNow configurations and customizations through rigorous testing and adherence to best practices.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create comprehensive documentation for developed solutions and configurations, and share knowledge and insights with team members to foster a collaborative and informed working environment.

What qualifications do I need?

  • Must have the ability to pass a background check and obtain a Public Trust clearance.

  • Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required).

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience.

  • 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.

  • Must have ServiceNow certification(s) with 6-10 years of experience in ServiceNow development, including a deep understanding of various ServiceNow modules.

  • Experience in coordinating with various individuals such as program and project leaders to analyze system and/or product architecture, design, coding, and performance.

  • Ability to identify strategies for addressing requirements, risks, issues, and to conduct trade-off analysis of requirements against fiscal, schedule, and performance issues.

  • Strong demonstrable skills in resolve problems as related to their field.

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.

What additional characteristics will help me thrive?

  • 3-5 additional years of relevant experience.

  • ITIL v3 and/or ITIL v4 Certification(s).

  • Other ServiceNow Certification(s) in various modalities.

  • Agile and DevSecOps Methodology: Strong understanding of Agile and DevSecOps practices, with the ability to work effectively within fast-paced, iterative development processes.

  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other relevant web technologies used in ServiceNow development.

  • Analytical and Critical Thinking Skills: Excellent analytical abilities to interpret business requirements into technical solutions, with strong problem-solving skills to address challenges creatively.

  • Communication Skills: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

  • Continuous Learning: A commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of the latest ServiceNow features, modules, and best practices in IT service management.

Compensation

$113,927.72 - $187,981.83

The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of Cognosante’s total compensation package for employees. It is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee.
